Compact Thermal Model of Planar Transformers

In the paper the compact thermal model of planar transformers and the methods of measuring parameters existing in this model are presented. The network form of such a model is proposed and self and mutual transient thermal impedances existing in this model are defined. The methods of measurements of each of these transient thermal impedances with the indispensable measurement set-up are shown. Some results of measurements of thermal parameters of the planar transformer with the ferrite core made of 3F3 material are shown and discussed. Some results of calculations obtained with the use of the described thermal model are presented and compared with the results of measurements.
