Low Energy Precise Navigation System for the Blind with Infrared Sensors

P. Marzec, A. Kos (AGH Univ. of Science and Techn., Poland)

This article presents a new idea of precise navigation for blind people with the use of infrared sensors, which help them detect various objects such as buildings or walls, etc. Infrared sensors allow measuring distance between blind people and particular objects or roads. The main objective of such a solution is to enable blind people to move around, especially in an urban infrastructure. The usage of infrared sensors allows creating the energy-saving navigation system for them.
