Venue

Poznań is one of the oldest and largest (around 550 000 inhabitants) cities in Poland. Situated on Warta river in western Poland, it is the capital of Great Poland region. The city possesses many unique, impressive historical monuments. One of the most precious monuments is the gothic cathedral on Ostrów Tumski island, which is famous for its Golden Chapel and the tombs of the first Polish rulers. Another interesting sight is the Old Market Square with the Town Hall - the pearl of renaissance architecture. This building, with its beautiful facade, arcades and clock with two fighting goats appearing at noon, is a real tourist attraction. One of the most valuable sacral monuments is the baroque Paris Church. Among other interesting sights are Działyński Palace and Royal Castle. For centuries, Poznań has been a very important trade center with its over seventy-yearold Poznań International Fair. In Poznań, as a cultural center, there are Opera and Philharmonic Houses, famous Boy's Choir, several theaters. The International Violin Competition is also held in Poznań. The city has numerous water sport facilities around Malta Lake. In the environs of Poznań, there are beautiful Kórnik Castle and Rogalin Palace.

Travel Arrangements

Air: Poznań is easily accessible via Poznań Ławica Airport (POZ), with international (e.g. from Frankfurt, Munich, Copenhagen, London, Amsterdam) and domestic flights operated by Ryanair, Wizz Air, LOT, Lufthansa and KLM. The airport, located 7 km from the city centre, is well connected to the city by taxis and buses.
 
Rail: Poznań is a key railway hub in Poland, with fast and frequent connections to major cities like Warsaw, Kraków, Wrocław, and Berlin. Travel by train is comfortable, offering both express and regional services, with tickets available through the PKP Intercity website and at the stations.
 
Road: Poznań can be easily reached by road from major cities in Europe. The most important connections are via the highways and expressways like the A2 and S5 that provide smooth routes, with approximately 3.5 h of travel from Warsaw, 2.5 h from Wrocław and 3.5 h from Berlin.
 
Coach: Long-distance bus services (e.g. FlixBus) offer affordable and direct connections to Poznań from major cities in Europe. Coaches may arrive at the bus station located in the city center.
