A Design Method of Low Frequency Universal Filter Employing MOCCIIs

F. Matsumoto, T. Ohbuchi, H. Nakamura, S. Matsuo (National Defense Academy, Japan)

In biomedical engineering fields, low frequency filters are used. For very low frequency such as lower than hundreds Hz, a large resistance and a large capacitance are needed. The large resistance can be implemented by a transconductor of low transconductance. In contrast, it is difficult to shrink the area occupied by large capacitances. This paper proposes a design method of a low frequency universal filter employing second generation multiple output current conveyors (MOCCIIs) with current amplification functions. Simulation results show that the characteristics of the proposed filter are almost the same with the conventional filter in spite of reduced chip area.
