Single-ended to Differential Mode Voltage-to-Current and Current-to-Voltage Converter in High Voltage SOI Technology

M. Jankowski (Lodz Univ. of Techn., Poland)

This This paper presents a modified voltage-to-current and current-to-voltage converter with differential output capabilities. The discussed circuit is able to transit between low-voltage and high-voltage ranges of analog signal processing. It can produce two counter-phase voltage or current waveforms. The new version of the converter uses single-stage signal processing for both output signals. This solution results with improved operation of the converter due to significant shortening of the longer of two signal paths that exist in the previously published circuit. The paper presents a comparison of the original and modified converter structures. In both cases, the schematics with overvoltage protection devices are used in the presented analyses. The obtained results are discussed, the conclusions of the comparison are drawn, and further planned steps of the circuit improvement and analysis are proposed.
