This paper discusses an impact of a magnetic field from underground cable lines on the environment. The paper presents the basic mechanisms of the occurrence of the physical phenomenon of magnetic field. The permissible levels of magnetic field emissions around the world are discussed. A case study presents magnetic field simulations performed using the FEM approach for different ways of laying cable lines. A discussion is offered on a possibility of reasonable reduction of negative environmental impact.
